This honour goes to the best player in the league at their nominated position. Brad Vagg also took second place in the leagues leading goal kicker race with the Lawrence Park Rebels forfeit possibly costing him the trophy. Nov 30, 2006, 2:50 pm Saturday saw the Gargoyles matched up against the top of the table Roos for a battle to make the final 5. The game see sawed with both teams playing an excellent standard of football. Matt Newark in the ruck was all over the Roos massive Ruckman and boosting higher than anyone had ever seen before. He was getting cold up there at times. Jeff Borysiewicz was running like a madman through the middle and had his Australian opponent gasping for breath and needing a break. Guelph was only a couple of points down at the half and looking to consolidate during the third quarter. Unfortunately the Roos depth shone through and they came out on top at the end of the match. Guelph did prove they are serious contenders by scoring the most points on the Roos of any team this season going down 13.11.89 to 9.3.57 in a tough hitout that had both teams feeling the pinch at the end of the day. Slingo's full match report to follow. Aug 30, 2006, 1:12 pm Great win on Sunday to keep us in contention. Slinga will post a full report soon. Training this Thursday will be at the University. Next week will be at Margaret Greene both Tuesday & Thursday. Be sure to get out both days as this is our biggest game of the year. Thursday is pretty much compulsory so if you can't make it let Azza, Slinga or Greg know ASAP. One more win is all we need. Aug 4, 2006, 10:58 am With the incredible heat and strong periods of rain several Gargoyles still particapted in training this week. Gargoyles went back to the basics, concentrating on developing kicking skills, communication skills and Team Work. The Club Executitve wanted to say thanks to the fellas for playing footy, and offered a few brown bottled pops & Barbie back at Rick's.....on Thursday night
Gargoyles AFC would also like to thank the efforts of Bannon Contracting & Rich Parker & Carl O'Brien for the construction of the New Scoreboard... and thanks to Brad Vagg for painting it in club colours. Huge thanks to all the Saturday Grounds Crew for your efforts in the pre and post game duties. Nothing but Quality 110% Gargoyle Effort..
Lets enjoy the Longweekend fellas, be safe and see you on Tuesday 6:30pm for training as Coach Slinga prepares us for the second half of the season.
